TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BITS AND REAMERS
Tungsten Carbide Bits and Reamers are an economical drilling system that complements the diamond drilling system. While diamond bits and reamers are used in medium to very hard formations, tungsten carbide bits are used in soft to medium, friable or unconsolidated formations.
There are three different types of tungsten carbide used in the manufacture of bits:
STANDARD TRIANGULAR DRILLTEC BIT
Irregular Tungsten Carbide chips available in several sizes, set onto a steel body. These bits have minimum number of drilltec particles requiring low cutting force, fast feed rate in softer formations.
STEP FACE TRIANGULAR DRILLTEC BIT
Design allows more drilltec particles to be used across the face. Suited to harder formations.
KALEX BIT
Symmetrical shaped cutters that cut in a sawtooth action set into steel body. Suitable for use in clay and shale formations.
MESH REAMER
Made with very small granular drilltec particles. They are low cost alternative to diamond reamers, used in conjunction with drilltec and kalex bits.
